It’s been 3  weeks since my last confess…. I mean podcast

Life has been changing for me, well, I mean it’s ALWAYS changing, but over the past few months I’ve been … out of focus. My priorities are changing and I’m not even sure what they are changing to.  Sometimes I think I know and then I don’t.

I actually wrote a show each week, but I was unable to record it. Not from a technical or time issue, but from a … how should I say it? … From an existential point of view.

I’m questioning all sorts of things. About life, death, the bits in-between, and the bits after. Is this reality just mine? Or am I part of someone else reality? When I’m in my dreams that seem as real as real life, but when I’m awake they are obviously just a dream. Or are they another reality?

I recently stood at the foot of the ocean. It called to me. It calls to devour me. I wrote some good stuff about it, but that’s not why we are here today.

Today we look for answers in the most completely wrong place — the Magic 8-Ball.

Much like a Ouji board, it’s a device to give us answer to questions and the answers really aren’t answers at all.

In the standard Magic 8-Ball there are 23 responses: From Wikipedia: Twelve of the possible answers are affirmative, while five are non-committal, and six are negative.

Just over half the answers are positive because people want to hear positive answers.

Of the negative answers, only 2 are actual No’s. The other 4 are like maybes.

The 5 non-committal — basically just like when you ask your partner what’s wrong and they say, “Nothing”. It’s not positive at all because we know nothing means something.

(there is more to this 8-ball stuff, but only when you listen…)

It’s similar to this IMGUR post I found. It said you get to choose one of the following pills and the effects last a full year. There are five of them: Blue pill, Use 80% of your brain power, Red pill, Spiderman powers, Purple pill, Read minds, Black pill, Never get injured or feel pain, Green pill, Able to see up to 12 hours in to the future at any given time.

(there is a lot more to this too, but it’s only in the podcast, not here, gotta listen!)

Are these the things I need to find the answers I seek? For me, for now, the only answer I get is “Reply hazy try again”.

You always hear people saying, ‘There is no I in team”, but yet in sports there is an MVP, so there is an I in team. I get that the team is greater than the sum of it’s parts, but there are still lots of important I’s in team. Without all the I’s there is no team.
